Holiday Message from Your Superintendent

Dr. Jodi Spoor with Students at Ted Flores Elementary

Hello Pearsall Family,

As the calendar year comes to a close, we have so much to be grateful for—from a successful fall semester to what I know will be a breakthrough year for Pearsall ISD in 2026.

This year, 2025, is especially meaningful to me—not only because it marks when I joined the Maverick family, but because it has given me the opportunity to work alongside such amazing students, parents, and staff. The hashtag #WEAREPEARSALL is more than a motto; it’s a promise that we are in this together. We believe that real success happens when the district and the community move forward hand in hand. I could not be more proud to represent such a great community.

And when it comes to greatness, our students lead the way. This fall, we recorded some of the best attendance rates in the state and launched an inspiring academic plan aimed at achieving our strongest scores yet. We celebrate Jacelyn Chavera for earning her Associate of Arts Degree from Southwest Texas College on December 9th - a full semester before her high school graduation! On the athletic side, our students demonstrated remarkable strength and determination on the field and on the court. Our breakout stars include Angelyna Montes at Pearsall High School, who qualified for the State Cross Country Meet, and our Junior High Dogies, who are back-to-back 8th Grade Football District Champions.

Looking ahead, 2026 promises even more success for our students and staff. Along with the Pearsall ISD Board of Trustees, I am committed to ensuring your children succeed academically. We are already seeing strong gains in math and reading, and by the end of this school year, we will have measurable results that will help chart a path to long-term success.

Until then, I hope you take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holidays with family and friends.
