Pearsall Independent School District is excited to announce Steven Hernandez as the new Head Football Coach for the Pearsall Mavericks.
With 16 years of teaching and coaching experience, Hernandez brings leadership and a clear vision for the future of Maverick football. He has coached at the middle school and varsity levels and worked with programs in the 4A, 5A, and 6A classifications. He has served as head coach of three different programs, with each reaching the postseason. Among his career highlights, Hernandez helped guide SW Legacy High School from a 0-10 season in 2018 to an 8-4 record in 2020.
Hernandez said he sees a strong, hard-working set of values in the Pearsall community and is excited to step into a place where a foundation of commitment, accountability, and sacrifice already exists. “What excites me most is the chance to align the football program with that identity and give it direction, structure, and purpose,” Hernandez said.
Pearsall ISD looks forward to the future under Coach Hernandez’s leadership and to officially welcoming him to the Maverick family.
