Dear Pearsall ISD Community,
The Pearsall ISD and School Board of Trustees strongly believe in accountability. One of the three board adopted goals pertains to providing a quality education for students while ensuring a safe environment for everyone; therefore, the safety of our students and staff is a top priority. Pearsall ISD has implemented many safety measures to include placing a school district police officer at each campus. In collaboration with campus administration, the police officers meet throughout the year to review and implement additional safety measures in the best interest of the students and staff. Pearsall ISD is committed to being transparent and accountable regarding school operations.
This morning, a district police officer and school administrator found a 9mm pistol inside a vehicle at the high school student parking lot. The incident was handled properly and swiftly by the high school administration and school district law enforcement. At no time were threats made to the students and staff. However, the student who brought the vehicle to school was immediately apprehended, questioned, and will be addressed by respective authorities.
We will continue to work towards ensuring that all students have a safe learning environment at school. Thank you for your continuous support as we work together to help our children succeed in school and in life.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nobert Rodriguez
Superintendent of School
